NEWS RELEASE NATIONAL HEALTHCARE ALLIANCE, INC.
WINS CONTRACT TO PROVIDE STREAMLINED HEALTHCARE STAFFING SERVICES FOR GOVERNMENT HEALTHCARE
FACILITIES (Dacula, Georgia—September 27, 2004—National Healthcare Alliance, Inc. (NHA), a leading provider of
temporary physician staffing, has been awarded a Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) contract to provide
professional healthcare staffing services for government healthcare facilities across the nation.
The new contract is a multiple award schedule and vastly simplifies the process of contracting for
temporary physician staffing in government healthcare facilities, according to Allan A. Viscardi, CEO for
NHA. "Under the FSS contract, selected vendors are pre-approved based on their demonstrated ability to
provide quality service, their financial stability, and their commitment to follow national standards for
credentialing physicians and maintain adequate levels of malpractice insurance," Viscardi says. "This
frees facilities to focus on finding the best physicians to fill their short- and long-term staff vacancies."
The new contract will also reduce the lead time required to arrange for physician coverage and
administrative costs associated with contracting. "The thing that pleases us most about this contract,"
Viscardi continues, "is that it allows facilities to select a vendor based on 'best value.' We place a great
deal of emphasis on the quality of the physicians we place and our level of service, and believe this will
continue to translate into the best value for our government clients."
Physicians who work with NHA in temporary assignments (called locum tenens physicians) will also
benefit from the contract because it opens up additional opportunities nationwide. Government facilities
recognize any state medical license. The FSS contract covers professional and selected allied healthcare staffing services for all federal
healthcare facilities, including Veterans' Administration, Indian Health Service, and Department of
Defense facilities.
